To Kwame, Sammy and JesusIsTheWay, what this Church preaches is LOVE. Remember, God is LOVE. Not hate. Satan is hate. If you are opposed to gay marriage, you must support promiscuity. That's of God? C'mon folks. You are NOT smarter than God. God's creation is good. You can't pick and choose which old testament verses you want to keep and which ones you want to ignore.

Besides, I am saved by the blood of Jesus who never said one word, not one word ever about homosexuality. You can quote Paul all you want, but I'm not saved by the blood of Paul.

The hatred you bigots are promoting staggers me. Tell me, if gay marriage is so evil why did Jesus never preach against it? You claim to follow him but you seem to forget completely that he was about love and acceptance. Jesus ended the old horrible ways before he came. The teachings about gay people are right next to the ones about committing genocide and murder in God's name. Yet apparently you like to cherry pick which bits of the Old Testament you want to believe
Report This Comment

What's sad is that the Pharisees were saying the same things I've read here to the first Gentile Christians in Paul's day (Acts 15; Galatians 3). Although God had been pouring out His Spirit on the Gentiles, all over and freely, because of their faith in Him, outside of the pale of the Law, there were those who insisted the Gentiles must follow the Mosaic Law to be saved or stay saved, even though that burden was too much for even the Jews to bear. When will we stop trying to out god God? We are good at judgement but God is better at mercy and grace. He has appointed us to share the good news that Jesus Christ died and rose again as the ultimate sacrifice for Everyone's sins. Adam introduced sin through disobedience. Jesus through obedience washed it away with his blood. He didn't just wipe the slate clean for a new start, He threw the slate into the sea of forgetfulness or his death would have been in vain. Aren't you grateful that our indiscretions will not condemn us? John 3:16,17 really means what it says, so why do we so angrily condemn? I study many versions KJV, NIV, MSG etc. and it's all the same. According to Ephesians 2:8,9 we are saved by grace through faith. That's why without faith it is impossible to please God (Hebrews 11:6). There are 630+ Mosaic laws we ALL are guilty of and could be held accountable for everyday, even if we didn't know it was wrong (Levitivus 5:17). But God saw fit to acquit us all. Jesus came and did what the Law could never do. It only pointed out our sins. He fulfilled God's direct promise to Abraham that was established 430 years before angles presented the Law to Moses. As Paul said in Galatians, how can the law annul the promise that came 430 years before? Scripture says the law was the Jews keeper until Christ would come to fulfill the law, but they still failed miserably. In the Gospels, Jesus blessed Jews and Gentiles according to their faith alone. Jesus said in Matt 5:20 "For I say to you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven." The Pharisees were notorious for condemning folks when they were just as blood guilty. Let's not be counted with them. God's grace and peace be with us all through faith in Jesus. Hallelujah!

God help the church that would encourage sin in any form. These people need to understand that this is not ok at all. Read 1 John 3:1-10. Continued sin leads to Hell. I can't believe that people who claim to follow Christ could be so apathetic toward him. This is ridiculous.

During our second year of wedlock, my husband and I encountered ourselves out of college and out of work. Neither of us could get jobs in our discipline. So, neither one of us were able to even find full time jobs as the economy was bad and for the first time in my lifetime I begun hearing individuals talk about the homeless, food shelters, etc. As we scrambled to make ends meet, with not one but 3 part time jobs cleaning offices (we got runs together as we only had 1 auto and sped to three different locations all night long ending up about 3 a.m.), I recall a brief point when matters got a bit "tense". In the thick of all of this, my husband suddenly quietly asked me if I wanted a divorce and that stopped me in my tracks. I gulped and begun to cry as he rapidly reassured me that wasn't what he wanted either but it was time for us to make a commitment. For almost 29 years (next month), this has meant that we have NO different option. We are sworn to this and hence we must continually bring our spousal relationship under the protective cover of the very source of marriage itself, God!

You title this love and justice?! There is no justice without the blood of Jesus Christ and there is certainly no justice in sin and darkness. Same sex "unions" are not biblical because it is unholy. Love each other, but LOVE God first, John 14:15 If you love me, you will obey what I command. Leviticus 18:22 Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is detestable. IT IS DETESTABLE, it is wicked in the eyes of men and detestable in the eyes of the Father. If you truly love Jesus as you say you do, you will wage war on your unholy desires. You were not born this way, you are a son/daughter of the Most High God and you have lost your identity in Christ because you're distracted by the desires of your heart to experience love.

Ephesians 4:17-20, Romans1: 17-32, James 1:12-17, and Romans 12:1-2 shed light on this weakness. The weakness does not come from God but the person's doing (willingly or unwillingly) of not glorifying God in their lives. Romans 10:17 says that faith comes by hearing and hearing the Word of God. When we put the Word first place in our lives instead of second, third, or fourth, then we can have the faith and lifestyle that is pleasing to God according to Hebrews 11:6. When we please Him (putting Him first place) then we are glorifying Him with our lives and not dishonoring His Word. It's harder for one's imagination to become vain and heart to become foolish and darkened with their attention truely fixed on Him and not trying to justify their actions.

I totally agree with most of the contributions here. No doubt, sexual attraction to people of same sex is most times a developed habit and it's a weakness (sin) just like any other sin—fornication, adultery, covetousness, bearing false witness and all that but the disparity here, which has always been the crux of the matter, is that being gay is being justified and upgraded from being a sin to a life-style. That may go down well from a secular point of view but in the context of Christianity and more importantly— Christ, we must eschew from such iniquitous tendencies. If this should go down unscathed, soon enough, pedophiles and bestial freaks will be drumming their beats for support and God forbid that the "Loving" church will wrap them up in a warm embrace. Homosexuals must be loved and homosexuality must be understood not only as a deviant behavior but a weakness that can be overcomed. That is the responsibility of the church, rather than supporting the act by endorsing it through solemnization of same-sex marriages.

In the end days many shall depart from the faith giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils, heaping teachers with itching ears whose god is their own belly not having the Spirit of God but are filled with many sensual diverse demonic lusts who are clouds that carry no rain, wolves in sheep's clothing who pervert the gospel of Christ. Romans asks the question, "Shall we continue to sin because of God's grace? God forbid!!!" Malachi 3:6 says, "I am the Lord. I change not." If He saw it wrong thousands of years ago then He still sees it wrong today. Several times it says in the Bible to repent and that is what we must do personally and as a nation. If we would judge ourselves we would not be judged but when we are judged we are judged so we will repent and not perish like sinners. People need to wake up!!!
